It looks like two women may be in trouble in Nelson Lakes National Park.
A personal emergency locator beacon has been activated near Angelus Hut between Lake Rotoiti and Lake Rotoroa.
A Rescue Coordination Centre spokesman says a Westpac Rescue Helicopter is en route to try and locate the women.
