Thieves nick off with rare palms

A number of rare and expensive palm trees have been stolen from a property in Tasman.

About 10 of the Cycas Revoluta palms were taken in the burglary. They are about 15 years old and are growing in grey plastic 60 litre containers. The palms are about 1.5m tall and wide.

Police say they are each worth several thousand dollars.

Nelson police are seeking information from the public to help locate the missing trees.
