For the first time in decades, the region’s property listing publication is being published for locals by locals.
The publishers of Nelson Weekly and Waimea Weekly have joined forces to offer a property publication for people wanting to sell their home via the region’s top real estate agencies.
The new product, aptly named Property Weekly, will be available to be picked up from 80 drop points around Nelson and Tasman every Thursday.
It will feature property listings from some of the region’s top agencies like Bayleys, Harcourts, Ray White, Mike Pero and more.
Because of its large spread, Property Weekly will get outstanding coverage for people listing their homes with these brands.
Previously, the property listings were published by then-Australian owned Fairfax Media and then German-owned Bauer media. Property Weekly is 100% owned in Nelson-Tasman.
Mike Pero Nelson and Richmond owner Craig Hamilton says support local was a big reason why he decided to go with the new Property Weekly.
“We were pretty disappointed the Property Press stopped printing, but with what’s been happening with Covid we thought it was good to go local. It ended up there were three options for property listings but all the major brands in Nelson decided to go with Property Weekly because we want to support local.”
Graeme Vining the managing Director of Bayleys Nelson/Tasman says it joining the Property Weekly was a good fit for his business.
“The Nelson Weekly and Waimea Weekly have been supporting local organisations and business’ over the last 15 years and have continued to provide news freely to the community, and great service to their customers throughout challenging times. There has been no better media medium to reach over 34,000 households both with news, community notices, and of course business advertising.
“We appreciate their initiative in setting up a the Nelson Tasman Property Weekly to provide a vehicle for our vendors to advertise their properties to the Nelson and Tasman public following the uncertainty around the continuance of other real estate publications. Our local real estate market continues to be active in all sectors and this new publication will help us to bring the buyers and sellers together.”
Nelson Weekly publisher Andrew Board says it’s exciting to bring Property Weekly into its stable of products.
“We’ve grown a lot over the last few years to include the Nelson App and Nelson Magazine so having the opportunity to add another printed product into the mix was exciting for us. We’re really looking forward to helping more real estate agencies do what they do best – sell homes.”
