Rally against breast cancer

Sunday’s Kelly Bowater Rally Against Breast Cancer will be serving up a day of fun and social tennis to support the Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand.

In its second year, the event will see seven clubs host an exercise session on court to help highlight the importance of exercise for mental and physical wellbeing and to raise money for Breast Cancer.

Nelson Bays Tennis Association regional coordinator, Ali McQuillan, says Rally Against Breast Cancer is for everyone, non-tennis players, tennis players, people touched by breast cancer, and people who are just keen to have some fun in the sun for a good cause.

“You don’t have to have picked up a tennis racket before to come along, it’s just a fun cardio session to raise money for Breast Cancer Month, so we’re inviting everyone to come and join us.”

One lucky person at each club will also win a new Wilson Federer racket and pamper, along with each club offering their own spot prizes.

Sessions will be held from 10-11am on Sunday, October 29, at the Wakapuaka Tennis Club, Nelson Lawns Tennis Club, Richmond Tennis Club, Hope Tennis Club, Mapua Tennis Club, Motueka Tennis Club, and the Golden Bay Tennis Club.

General admission for Rally Against Breast Cancer is $15 per person, with mother and child, and business group entry options also available.
