Tasman United’s latest recruits have traveled a long way to Nelson.
Abdulla and Yousif Al Kalisy are the sons of Iraqi refugees who grew up in Auckland. They were officially announced as the newest signings for Nelson Pine LVL Tasman United today.
Abdulla, 21, and Yousif, 19, come into the strong squad after stints last year at Auckland City and Waitakere. Looking to further their All White ambitions, New Zealand Football directed the Al Kalisy brothers to Tasman head coach Davor Tavich.
“The dream is to play professionally, and when we spoke to New Zealand Football they recommended Davor after seeing him at their coaching clinic last year,” says Abdulla.
Nelson Pine LVL Tasman United compete in the national premiership which starts on the October 22.
