The Top of the South VMX club are holding the 13th annual Ray Anderson Memorial Trophy and Club Champs at Tadmor on Sunday.
Ray Anderson was a member of the Nelson motorcycle club from 1947 to when he passed away in 2003 and spent 52 years as secretary or treasurer. He was also a member of the Motorcyle New Zealand (MNZ) executive in the early 1960s and received the service award medal from MNZ in 1996.
The Ray Anderson Memorial Classic Trophy recognises this contribution and is contested by a different class each year, drawn on the day, giving all senior riders the opportunity to race for the trophy. All the classes race for the club champs and the Tapawera Hotel Cup for the overall club champ.
Sunday’s event is sponsored by Morley Motorcycle and Marine. Food and drink are available on the day with the profits going to the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter.
Sign in from 8am and racing starts at 10am.
