BraveHeart Challenge

Through steep farmland, mud and over obstacles, the BraveHeart Challenge certainly wasn’t for the faint hearted.

Organiser Mike Gane said it was just a quirky idea that he decided to act upon, holding the second annual event at a farm in 88 Valley earlier today.

While the children’s track stayed on flat ground, adult competitors were put through their paces with a choice of one or two laps of the approximately six kilometre long course.

Mike’s idea was to create an obstacle race designed to involve kids, adults and the elite athletes who want a slightly different type of challenge.

Obstacles on the day included a 3.5m – 4m high “A” frame to climb over, 2.5m walls to get over, a sloppy creek, steep banks, followed by a run up a flowing creek with a climb up a small waterfall to wash off.
