Video: Liam Malone interview

Nelson blade runner Liam Malone has captivated New Zealand with his down-to-earth charm and charisma during his medal heroics at the Rio Paralympics.

The 22-year-old will look to add to his 200m gold medal and 100m silver in the final of his favourite event the 400m on Friday afternoon.

Malone qualified second fastest for the final following a heat where he cantered to the finish line with a cheeky grin across the track at his opposition as he crossed the line which suggests another gold medal is well in his sights.

Here is a NZ Herald interview with the local sporting star.
