Tasman district enters dangerous driving season

Spring is a beautiful time of year but in the Tasman District (Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast) but it’s also a high-risk time on our roads.

Over last year’s September to November period, six people died in crashes on our roads throughout Nelson, Marlborough, and the West Coast.

Nicer weather and longer days encourage vulnerable road users like cyclists, pedestrians, and motorcyclists to get out and about.

Police are asking motorists to keep an eye out for them, plan ahead and always drive to the conditions.

“We are working hard with our partner agencies to encourage safer driving behaviour and making our roads safer for all of our communities.

“Enjoy spring but keep safe.”
