Calling all Pokemon hunters

Pokemon catchers are invited to bring their phones to the Nelson Provincial Museum and catch ‘em all.

For four days only, Nelson Provincial Museum is going to be opening its doors to Pikachu and Snorlax alike.

Museum CEO Lucinda Blackley-Jimson, is excited to invite the local community to engage with the museum through the augmented reality game.

“We are hoping to see a range of people come in and enjoy our historic galleries with a Pokémon twist”.

Over each of the four days, Staff at the museum will be dropping lures on the two closest PokéStops to draw in rare and popular Pokémon as well as the local Nelson Pokémon community.

Charging stations will also be available for those who find their phone battery stops before they are ready.

The museum is also holding a photo competition for the best screen grab of a Pokémon taken within their building and then uploaded to one of three social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with the hashtag #NelsonPokemonMuseum.

There are three cash prizes up for grabs, with the most popular screen grab winning a $100 Prezzie card, and the two runners-up winning $50 Prezzie cards each.
