Tonight’s mid-winter masquerade night market is set to warm up Nelson’s Morrison Square.

Running from 4:30pm until 8pm, the market will feature plenty of food, music and entertainment, in conjunction with Late Night on Hardy.

Organiser Amme Hiser says that it’s the second year they have held the masquerade market and she is encouraging Nelsonians to brave the cold, bring a mask and enjoy the evening.

“It’s going to be really family friendly with loads of entertainment, hot food and late night shopping,” she says.

“It’s a nice outing for people in the middle of winter, so people should bring their umbrellas as it will be on rain or shine.”

Prizes are for grabs for the best dressed, thanks to Morrison Square’s new Pizzaria, Patacca, which is also celebrating it’s opening on Thursday.

Performances from the Central School Chorus, Django Schmango, Get Off Your Rockers and Weave will be on offer, and you can warm up with a hot mulled wine or apple juice with proceeds going to the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary Trust.
