The newly-formed Nelson Regional Development Agency (NRDA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Rawson as the new CEO, commencing in mid-July.

New CEO for Nelson Regional Development Agency

There’s a new guy in town following the appointment of Mark Rawson as CEO of the newly-formed Nelson Regional Development Agency (NRDA).

Rotorua man, Mark is set to begin his new role in mid-July and Chairman John Palmer says the Board couldn’t be happier to have such a high calibre person in the role.

“Mark has shown in his time in Rotorua that he has all of the things we were looking for in a CEO, as we merge the two agencies of the EDA and Nelson Tasman Tourism.

“He has proven experience in merging similar organisations as well as getting focus and growth in key areas of economic development and tourism,” says John.

Mark says he is very excited about the NRDA opportunity and looking forward to working with the Board, staff, councils and the business community in contributing to the future of the Nelson and Tasman region.

“I am very motivated by the natural attributes of the region’s economic base and the potential to be the best place in regional New Zealand to live, work, invest and visit.

“Along with the Board, I am looking forward to listening to the key stakeholders to understand their expectations of where they see that the NRDA can add value to their future aspirations.

“I will also enjoy working with the team and key stakeholders in a partnership type approach to build a focussed organisation, putting its time and effort into the areas where we can have the most influence on outcomes that will ultimately stimulate private sector investment in the region,” says Mark.
