Job vacancies rise again in Nelson


Nelson Tasman, Marlborough and West Coast vacancies rose 1.9 per cent according to the latest Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) Jobs Online report.

Although all ten regions experienced an increase, the area with the biggest was the Bay of Plenty  who are up 3.0 per cent.

The national number of job vacancies rose by 2.4 per cent in May 2016, and by 13.4 per cent over the year, according to the report.

The hospitality and tourism industry experienced a strong rise in May with an increase of 1.9 per cent while vacancies for machinery drivers and operators rose 3.6 per cent and labourers went up 3.4 per cent.
