Nelson rugby teams dominate neighbours again in Tasman Trophy

If there was any doubt before, there should not be now, Taylors Wanderers are the team to beat in the Tasman Trophy rugby competition after they beat Marlborough’s best, Harlequins 44-25 in Blenheim today.

Only Waitohi were Marlborough winners today.

They earned a bonus point win at Star and Garter Waimea Old Boys 61-32.

Kahurangi were too strong for East Coast 46-20, Wakatu Hotel Marist celebrated their Club Day with a 48-20 win over Renwick.

Freeman Roofing Stoke downed Central 40-17 and Galbraith Nelson earned a narrow away win 22-20 over Moutere.

In Division Two results: Collingwood won a low scoring game against Huia 10-7, Riwaka beat Stoke 21-15, Waimea Old Boys were too slick for Takaka 48-14, Marist beat Rangers 38-14 and Wanderers beat Murchison 44-22.

In the Crusaders Secondary School rugby competition, Nelson College made it three wins in a row away from home with a 39-12 win over Ashburton College while St Bede’s scored  in the last play of the game to beat Waimea Combined 12-10 at Waimea College.
