An elderly man is suffering from serious head injuries after an accident in Stoke earlier this afternoon.
The man was walking on the road in front of the Stoke Red Cross when he was knocked over by a car around 12.30pm.
Highway Patrol Sergeant Terry Richards was on the scene shortly after and says, “the elderly male gentleman has been knocked over by a vehicle, he has serious head inuries and at this stage that’s all we can say.”
Terry confirmed that the man was on the road when he was hit and has since been taken to hospital.
Police have cordoned off the intersection of Lichfield Street and Neale Ave following the accident and traffic are being directed through the supermarket carpark.
