Bee-stung driver identified


The milk tanker driver that died near Glenhope on Tuesday has been identified as 47-year-old Timaru man, Eric Heath.

Eric died on the scene after his milk tanker drove off the side of the Kohatu-Kawatiri Highway around 2.30pm on Tuesday.

Police told the New Zealand Herald newspaper that it appeared Eric was stung by a bee moments before the accident.

No official cause has been identified as the investigation is ongoing.
