Can you remember only seeing three houses on the Port Hills? Local woman Clarice Millin certainly can.
Clarice sent this photo to www.nelsonlive.co.nz and we couldn’t resist using it for Throwback Thursday considering the bare Port Hills in the background.
The photograph was taken in 1942 and shows the standard five and six Tahunanui School girls to Nelson Live.
“One summers day we walked from the school to the beach and some pupils went for a swim,” says Clarice. “I think Mr McNabb was the head teacher and I have an idea that the lady teacher was Miss Dorothy Brent.”
