The Giants are all set to return to the Trafalgar Stadium on Saturday night for their first home game and the centre’s official reopening.

Mayor Rachel Reece says she’s incredibly proud of all those who worked on opening the stadium in time for the Giants.

“I couldn’t have picked a better event to get the stadium open for, to welcome our Giants home is just brilliant. They’re going to give a stunning performance, I’m sure they’ll win the game and I just encourage every Nelsonian to get down here and cheer them on.”

Nelson Giant Finn Delany got a sneak peek inside the building and says he and the team are super excited to be back in the hangar.

“The whole city is meant to be turning up on Saturday and I’m sure we’ll be making the most of our home court advantage.”

“Mentally it’s a big boost for the team and the club to get back to Trafalgar, it’s where all the history is and all the memories so it’s awesome for us to be back.”
