Sport Tasman has been encouraging kids and families to get amongst it this summer with a sandcastle building competition.
The competition has already had over 60 entries but Sport Tasman’s Wendy Bettjeman is expecting even more.
Wendy says the sandcastles can be any shape or size and as creative as you want.
“We’ve had some amazing ones come in, we’ve got a giant cat, a big snowman, a crocodile, a turtle and a Frozen castle.”
“There’s been a lot of families entering, especially grandparents who take their grandkids down to the beach and making a real day of it.”
Entries close January 31 and spot prizes will be awarded shortly after.
To enter, all you need to do is register online, make a sandcastle, take a photo and send it in.
