Brook Sanctuary Fencing

Once again, it’s all action up at the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary.

The winter break is over and the construction of the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary fence continues.

Construction began in early October, last year and was expected to be an 18-month project.

General Manager, Hudson Dodd says after a year, everybody is pleased with the progress and the timeline is exactly where they wanted it to be.

“There are different sections in different stages of completion, but there are almost 9 kilometers of completed fence on the ground, and then another 1.5-2 kilometers of partial fence on the ground. When it’s completed it’ll be 14.5 kilometers, enclosing 691 hectares,” says Hudson.

“It’s thrilling to see the progress, people in this community have been working towards this as a dream for thirteen years now, so to have it actually coming to fruition on the ground is literally a dream come true.”
