Mahana School celebrates 100 years


Mahana School has been celebrating 100 years of education this weekend, starting on Friday when the students entertained with their production of The Oak Tree.

On Saturday ex pupils gathered for speeches given by current principal Justin Neal, three other principals from previous years and an ex student, the day finished with decade photos, the cutting of a birthday cake and in the evening a dinner at Woollaston’s.

Today [Sunday] marks the actual 100 year birthday of the school which was opened on September 13, 1915.
