A truckload of Sealord ice was brought in to The Playhouse on Friday evening as competitors took to the slopes as part of the annual Jib Jam ski and snowboard competition.

The event, now in it’s fifth year running, saw four competitors hurling down the makeshift ramp and onto a grind bar at the bottom.

Numbers were down on previous years but around 50 spectators attended the event. Organiser Nic Rowland says the poor weather was to blame for the lack of turnout.

“The weather’s been fifty fifty so it’s been one of those days where people may not have been able to make it, especially the Rainbow ski crew who actually got snowed in.”
