Top dressage riders finish winter series

The Pitt & Moore 2015 Winter Series has been a fun and educational competition for local riders.

The event has been run for the past four months, with dressage combinations accumulating points from lead rein to level 5. Held by the Nelson Area Dressage Group at the Rough Island Equestrian Park, Sunday, July 26, saw the last round in the series.

The winter series was an opportunity for all riders to give dressage a go and organisers say this event has seen a great turn out with plenty of fierce competition for the champion ribbons.

Results for the Pitt & Moore Winter Series included Lead Rein Champion: Amy Wassell on horse Ellangowan Monarch, Training Pony Champion: Jaime Rushbrooke on Windward Limerick and Training Horse Champion: Helen Trotman and Bugsy.

Level 1 non-graded Pony Champion was Rilee McMeekin on Flying with Style, Level 1 non-graded Horse Champion: Tessa Silcock and Rondezvous LA and Level 1 graded Champion: Madison McMeekin and She’s Better than Homework.

Jessica Stock was the Level 2 non-graded Pony Champion with her horse Lacey, Level 2 non-graded Horse Champion: James Duncan and BL Alonso and Level 2 graded Champion: Carmen Snowden with Zactac Paris.

The Level 3 non-graded Champion was Angela Heafield on Jamaican me Crazy and Level 3 graded Champion was Helen Bowler and horse Escondido Grey Cloud.

Julie Fraser and her horse Arnage Rhumba were the Level 4 Champions and Level 5 Champion was Jan Morice with Lugano. Young Rider Graded Champion went to Meila Picard on her horse Kirkwood Prince Harry and Young Rider Non-Graded Champion was Jaime Rushbrooke with Absolute Justice.

Their next event is a training/fun day on September 6.
