Police have arrested a man in relation to an incident in the early hours of Sunday 9 August where a couple woke to find an intruder in their Richmond bedroom.
A 34 year old man has been charged with sexual violation by rape and will appear in the Nelson District Court today.
After the incident was reported police increased patrols in the area and urged people to ensure their own safety by locking doors and windows and keeping vehicles secure at all times.
