Attempted abduction from Richmond streets


Police are investigation a report of a 19-year old woman who broke free from an attempted abduction in Richmond on Sunday night.

The woman is reported to have been grabbed by the two men after being confronted near the corner of Florence St and Fauchelle ave just before 8pm.

The woman said the men grabbed her and attempted to drag her into nearby bushes. The woman was able to free herself from the men and run off.

The men are described as being of Maori or Polynesian descent with dark-coloured clothing. One of the men is described as being over six-feet tall and stocky.

The woman is being supported by friends, family and victim support.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses or anybody who may have information relating to this investigation.
