VIDEO: School Holiday Programmes

With school holiday programmes becoming more and more popular Nelson Live headed down to Auckland Point School to check out the YIKES enterprise programme’s fair day.

Children created businesses and sold their goods at the community fair with their own stalls. They all get to keep their profits.

Melissa Sweeney, 8, says her team are going to donate the profits from her marble and lucky dip stall to charity. They just hadn’t decided which one yet.

YIKES coordinator Tania O’Meagher says one year a group managed to make $60 profit at their food stall.

The fair will be run again next Friday.
