A community food action project is coming to Nelson led by a group of people who are passionate about improving the healthiness of food that is being sold in places around the city.

The group are looking at development of a smartphone app for crowdsourcing data on the healthiness of foods advertised and sold in local community settings.

The group have developed a project called Foodback: Your feedback for healthier food places that is supported by funds from The National Heart Foundation and the Health Research Council.

As part of this project the Foodback team is coming to Nelson to talk to people about the healthiness of the food places and to seek their feedback on the best way to collect information about the food that are being sold and advertised around Nelson.

The meetings will be held at the Victory Community Centre, 2 Totara Street (on the campus of Victory Primary School).

They are scheduled for Monday 13 July from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday 14 July from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to come along and talk about food places in Nelson!
