A body, identified as missing Nelson man Murray Teece, has been found in a van in the Waimea River.
A search was stepped up yesterday afternoon with the police national dive squad called in to scour the Waimea and Appleby rivers.
Diggers were also called in to assist in diverting the river to make it easier for dive squads to navigate.
The 73 year old was reported missing on Friday after failing to turn up to work in the morning.
Mr Teece was last seen leaving his home at Hope for work driving a green and silver Mitsubishi Delica.
