Wanderers rack up big win in Brightwater

Taylors Contracting Wanderers are in third place in the Tasman Trophy club rugby competition after thumping Renwick 53-5 at Brightwater last Saturday.

Wanderers scored nine tries, including two to wing Fletcher Matthews, against bottom-placed Renwick to take maximum points from the match. They had already picked up their four-try bonus point when they went to half time leading 22-0, before finishing off Renwick with another five tries after the break.

Wanderers has 28 points, 11 behind competition leaders Waimea Old Boys and three behind second-placed Central.

Wanderers play Central this Saturday at Lansdowne Park in Blenheim. Kick-off is at 3pm.

While second-placed Wanderers senior B play Rangers in their division two game at Upper Moutere this Saturday at 1.15pm.
