Byron and Kaz Carr were already excited about flying to Auckland to meet their new-born nephew when they were given a white bag as part of Air New Zealand’s 75 birthday celebrations.
After a quick game of “It’s in the Bag” with the air hostess, the Tahunanui couple were celebrating free flights to LA.
“It was crazy,” says Kaz. “We were given the option of airpoints or the prize in the bag and the whole plane was saying ‘bag, bag, bag’. We opened the bag and it was flights to LA, we couldn’t believe it.”
Kaz and Byron were one of four people to play the game on the Nelson to Auckland flight last week. One person took the airpoints and two others won trips, one to Hawaii and the other Texas.
Kaz says when she saw the cameramen come onto the plane she knew something was up. “I saw the promotion on Air New Zealand’s Facebook page but I never thought they’d do it on a flight from Nelson.”
She says when they got off the plane other passengers were congratulating them. “It was surreal, we’re so excited about going to LA.”
