Uniquely Nelson has developed a brand new promotion for July 2015 called Feast for the Senses. This promotion was developed in response to the lack of other festivals and events in July 2015, with the Light Nelson Festival not back until July 2016 and the future of the Winter Music Festival in doubt.
Feast for the Senses is a celebration of Nelson City’s diverse culinary offerings, but it is also an umbrella for other cultural activities such as art, music and performance.
In a snapshot, the promotion will consist of:
Progressive Dinners – we are calling these Moveable Feasts.
Illuminate – a retail window display that features artistic installations with creative lighting impact.
Deep in the Bleak – a 3 day music and performance festival at Old St John’s from 24-26 July. This is being organised by the Boswijks (with support from On Cue Promotions) and Uniquely Nelson will partner with this festival to maximise marketing effectiveness and opportunities for cross-promotion.
Special Events – This is where we will market and promote the existing offerings in Nelson City that fit within this promotion.
For instance, the special winter dining offer at Hopgoods, Sunday Roasts at The Vic, Music Bingo at 623, special release wine tastings at Casa Del Vino, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare at The Theatre Royal, etc etc.
Culinary Passport – We will produce a coffee-card sized passport that gives the public the opportunity to collect stamps at 6 or 8 eateries during the month of July and go in the draw to win dinner vouchers. This allows anyone the opportunity to participate in the promotion and gives us a measurable mechanism to gauge consumer engagement.
Uniquely Nelson is talking to Nelson City’s retail and hospitality businesses who may want to get involved.
