The FIFA under 20 world cup is coming to Nelson on Wednesday.

Sport Tasman has invited former All White Striker Noel Barkley, now the Sales Director for FIFA U20 World Cup to visit our region with the tournament trophy on April 8.

Nigel Muir, chief executive of Sport Tasman, says it’s a great opportunity for locals to find out more about one of the world’s biggest sporting occasions.

“Noel is a really engaging speaker and as a former All White striker with 35 caps and a former 3 time golden boot winner, Noel is a great ambassador for football. He also has some crucial information for those looking to attend matches” Says Nigel.

“This will be the only time that the FIFA U20 World Cup will be in our region so the public should take advantage of it” added Nigel.

The timing of the visit is significant as the official marketing campaign for the FIFA U20 World Cup, New Zealand 2015 has just kicked off at the start of April.

On April 8 in Nelson, there will be a free breakfast at Sports House, Saxton Field and between 12pm-1pm the FIFA U20 World Cup will be at the Richmond Mall.
