In an effort to slow speeding drivers a number of stopping demonstrations were held around the region.
Cardboard cutouts were used with fake tomato sauce blood in order to get across the message that speed can kill.
Garry Dunn from Dunn’s Driver Training lead the demonstration with Don Elvy at the wheel.
The car stopped at 20kmh, 50kmh, 50kmh without ABS breaks and 60kmh where the cutouts were hit.
Don and Garry were kind enough to stick the Nelson Live camera to the car while we filmed it with our slow motion camera at Atawhai Crescent on Friday.
