Navy ship at Port Nelson


This morning a naval ship will be welcomed into Port Nelson. The HMNZS Hawea naval ship will be birthing at the Coastal Berth at 8am. She is an inshore patrol boat used for maritime surveillance. She is the third naval ship to be named “Hawea” and is named after Lake Hawea in Otago.

Also arriving today is the Maria-Katharina container vessel at 2.15pm. She will be birthing at the Main Wharf South carrying containers from Lyttelton.

Departing today is the Aukaha fishing vessel. She departed Sealords carrying bunkers to to sea at 2.45am

At 11pm the Ocean Odyssey will be also be departing the Sanfords Wharf to sea.
