All water restrictions in the Tasman region have been lifted effective immediately.
The recent rain for the region has supplied sufficient rain to recharge the aquifers and river flows which are now in good health.
Golden Bay received the most rain with 136mm on Takaka Hill and about 47 mm at Kotinga. The Riwaka received around 70mm, the Waimea plains around 50mm, and the Motupiko area 30mm.
Rivers will continue to be monitored by council with the possibility of restrictions being re-instated if water levels drop again.
This week’s Dry Weather Task Force meeting has been cancelled.
