St John’s youth wing is hosting an open day this Saturday, to encourage local youngsters to get involved.
St John’s has youth divisions in Stoke and Richmond and say it’s perfect for children interested in helping in the community, learning first aid and making new friends. The open day is on Saturday 21 March from 10am to 2pm at the Richmond Baptist Church Hall on Salisbury Rd in Richmond.
St John Penguins (6-8 years) and Cadets (8 -18 years) will put on displays of first aid, drill (marching) and other fun activities. There will also be a BBQ and coffee cart.
The youth programme teaches young people first aid, health care and leadership skills, with the aim of developing confident future leaders in our communities.
