Haulashore island proved popular today with several groups of stand up paddle boarders, kayakers and tourists visiting Nelson’s iconic island.

Haulashore island was formed in the early 1900s when the Cut was formed to separate it from the Bolder Bank.  The Cut is 150m wide and is dredged every six months to allow large ships into Port Nelson.
