Annie Gray-Garland’s 1975 Cadillac Deval was just one among a crowd of classic cars on display at the Richmond A&P Showgrounds on Sunday, as part of a Nelson Tasman Hospice fundraiser.

At six metres long, Annie’s Cadillac was one car that was definitely turning heads. Like most classic car lovers, she says there’s just something about them that attracts her, but she thinks it could be something to with her love of the 50s and 60s.

“I’m stuck in that era, stuck in a time warp I suppose. It’s just awesome; it’s just a big beast. I feel like I’ve dropped back into that era you know? I feel like I’m cruising Route 66.”

“It does 15kms to the gallon and that’s on a good day. Nine if I put my foot down like I like to do – but don’t tell the cops that.”
