Theatre-goers are being treated to song and dance highlights from famous blockbuster broadway musicals at the Theatre Royal this week, all performed by local talent.
The Nelson Repertory Theatre group opened the curtains on the first show of their Love Broadway & Hollywood Too musical to a packed house on Thursday and enthusiastic crowds have been filling the audience every night since says musical director and production manager Adrienne Ford. “It’s not often we are treated to a show of this scale and glamour, and it’s something the director really wanted to do. A show with the big sets and the big costumes.”
With just eight weeks to rehearse, Adrienne says the cast and crew of 60 have put in a huge amount of effort to put on a showstopper.
The final shows will be held this Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm.
