Wanderers victorious in all senior grades over the weekend
Taylor’s Contracting Wanderers finished the Bayleys Tasman Trophy in style, cruising past Harlequins 61-19 at Landsdowne Park on Saturday.
Wanderers clocked up 53 unanswered points and belted the home side in the second half. The match had no bearing on the finals, with Wakatu Marist and Galbraith Group Nelson having qualified with a game in hand.
Ethan Johnston scored two tries in the match while Mike Lattin, Todd Bavin, Leohola Musihka, Loa Windly, Trael Joass and Riley Johnston all crossing over for one try each. Super boot Jackson Harvey slotted five conversions and two penalties.
Wanderers will play Accessman Stoke at Greenmeadows this Saturday. The match kicks off at 1:30pm.
Wanderers’ division two side secured a thumping 45-8 victory over neighbouring rivals Waimea Old Boys at the Brightwater Domain on Saturday as it remained in the hunt for a home playoff spot.
Stacey Lines, Gareth Palmer, Richard Bolitho, Rhys Horncastle and Ducati Morrell all scored tries in the match, with Ducati driving over for two. Fullback Daniel Cooper nailed five from six conversions.
Wanderers head to Takaka this Saturday.
Wanderers’ division three side spent another week unbeaten as it accounted for Rangers 44-5 in Upper Moutere on Saturday. Hud Davis, Jeremy Weir, James Marsters, James Cowin and a Steve Wallace double ensured maximum points. Aeralis Manoli kicked two conversions.
Wanderers will travel to Motueka to face Motueka United this weekend.
