A 1-0 win to Nelson College for Girls has seen the team jump to the top of the table in the women’s division one football competition.

With two rounds to play, FC Nelson, Waimea College and Richmond Swans are all still a chance to knock off the top-placed college team with only three points separating first and fourth.

College came into their round 13 fixture against the Swans at Little Wembly sitting in second on 26 points.

Their win saw them move into first after FC Nelson and Waimea drew 1-1.

This week will see FC Nelson take on College at Neale Park in a battle for top spot.

Waimea will host struggling Suburbs while the Swans and the Foxes will meet at Jubilee in a clash of the Richmond clubs.

In the men’s division one cup results, FC Nelson continue their strong form, edging Richmond 2-0 at Jubilee Park, while division one champions Rangers defeated Suburbs in Blenheim.
