Light Nelson will not let the weather rain on its parade as tens of thousands have flocked to see the central city in illuminated glory.

Event manager Sophie Kelly says about 20,000 people had visited last week before wild weather meant Sunday had to be cancelled.

However, she says tonight promises to be a great final showing of the biennial event which sees more than 60 artworks displayed through Queens Gardens and NMIT.

“We are reminding people that there are just as many works to see in NMIT, so you can start there.”

Light Nelson begins at 5.30pm.
