Nelson has a new lifestyle magazine dedicated to the city and its people.
Nelson Magazine launched earlier this month and features articles written by Nelsonians for Nelsonians.
The monthly magazine is free to pick up at various drop points in Stoke, Tahunanui, Nelson, Bishopdale and Atawhai. It is the only magazine on the market which focuses exclusively on Nelson, with others also encompassing Marlborough.
Nelson Magazine sales manager Sue Davies says that has proved to be a big point of difference.
“People love that our magazine is all about Nelson. We’re very parochial about that.”
Nelson Magazine will focus on lifestyle, fashion, homes, health and wellbeing and features longer-form profile pieces.
The magazine is published by Nelson Weekly Ltd, the publisher of Nelson Weekly, Nelson App and Marlborough App.
Its managing director, Andrew Board, says the magazine will complement the company’s other products.
“It’s a very dynamic time for print media in Nelson. The growth of our newspaper and mobile apps has shown that people enjoy local content, when it’s done well. We’re hoping to bring that formula to the magazine in a different format but for the same cause – to help Nelsonians feel connected about their town and to help local businesses reach their customers.”
The magazine is available to be picked up at The Coffee Factory in Wakatu Estate, Countdown Stoke, Caltex Bishopdale, Mitre 10 Mega, Nelson Weekly, Mobil Stoke, Mobil Tahunanui, Stoke Library, Nellie Nightengale Library, Elma Turner Library, Nelson New World, City Centre Arcade, Founders Heritage Park, Night and Day stores in Tahunanui and Nelson city, and more.
