The rugby will be more family-friendly than ever this Sunday with Pic’s Peanut Butter and the Nelson Aiport teaming up for a family fun zone and picnic.
As the Tasman Makos will host Auckland at Trafalgar Park this Sunday afternoon, two local businesses got together to make it a day not to be missed.
Nelson Airport will be hosting a family zone in front of the embankment that will feature bouncy castles and country games like peanut sack races, peanut and spoon races, as well as a tug of fun.
On the embankment itself, Pic’s Peanut Butter will be hosting its Mighty Pic’s Picnic.
Everyone buying a discounted general admission ticket from Pic’s Peanut Butter on Elms St in the Wakatu Estate (behind Pomeroys) or from its stand at the Nelson Market on Saturday mornings, will be able to take part.
Each family buying tickets will also be given a small jar of Pic’s Peanut Butter.
Tasman Rugby Union marketing manager Les Edwards says the day will be all about “family, rugby and sun.”
“And Pic’s Peanut Butter is the perfect partner for a Pic’s Picnic,” he joked.
Pic’s marketing manager Nikki Neate says they will also be giving out ten special prize packs.
“We’ve been a member of the 500 club and this coincided with our 10 year anniversary celebrations, so we thought ‘what would be better than inviting Nelson to come and watch some great rugby, have some peanut butter and have an amazing family afternoon’.”
The game kicks off on Sunday afternoon at 2.35pm and tickets can also be bought from makos.co.nz
