Today the local school facing a controversial closure celebrated its 100th year.

Current and former students, staff and supporters flocked to Salisbury School for a weekend of celebration in the face of an imminent closure.

The two-day centenary began with a Powhiri and the unveiling of a History Panel and continued with mingling, morning tea, reminiscing and speeches against the Minter of Educations plans to close the school.
