Nelson’s blade running sensation Liam Malone has cruised into the final of the T44 400m sprint at the Rio Olympics this morning.
The 22-year-old, who has already won a gold medal in the 200m and silver in the 100m, finished second in his heat in a time of 48.34 seconds.
Malone was comfortably in second heading into the last 50 metres and wound down his efforts in the final stages with qualification assured.
He even managed a cheeky grin across the track at his competitors as he finished, which suggests he had more in the tank for the final.
