Two people avoided serious injury after their vehicle ended up on it’s roof this afternoon, the result of a collision with a truck.
The pair were part of a car rally up from Christchurch.
While the female passenger was taken to Nelson Hospital as a precaution, neither her nor the driver suffered serious injuries.
The car, which was on the Wakefield/Kohatu Highway, was turning left onto Motueka Valley Highway when a medium sized truck coming from behind collided with the vehicle, the impact causing the car to flip onto its roof.
The two passengers were temporarily trapped until members of the public and those from their rally group helped cut them out.
The incident occurred at around 4pm this afternoon and was attended by three Police staff, volunteer fire crews from Wakefield and Tapawera and two Ambulance.
