A woman was taken to hospital after the car she was driving crashed into a power pole on Lower Queen St, in Richmond this morning.
The accident happened shortly after 9am and caused severe damage to a power pole and the car.
Sergeant Brett Currie says the lady was travelling towards Richmond when she crashed into the pole. “We’re investigating why but we haven’t been able to speak to the driver yet. At this stage it’s a mystery.”
A spokesperson for the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board says the woman is in a stable condition and is being treated in the emergency department.
