Nelson’s been first in many things and now we get to add hosting the first ever kiwi cider festival to the list.

As the nation’s apple growing capital, cider is at the heart of the Nelson region and over 30% of the industry’s ciders are produced by Nelson cider makers.

Those of you that like your alcohol fruity may want to flock to Founders on November 12 for a celebration of both traditional and New World kiwi ciders.

Festival goers will get to sample a range of products in a relaxed and friendly festival environment which will include a great entertainment headlined by internationally acclaimed New Zealand singer songwriter Greg Johnson.

The event will feature regional cuisine from local artisan producers, a great kids activity area where kids can press their own apple juice as well as an array New Zealand’s best ciders.
