Last week, Nelson’s Lift N Shift became the third business in the region to join the ACC Fleet Saver programme.
The programme aims to make roads safer by encouraging and rewarding safety among operators of large heavy vehicle fleets.
Fleet Saver requires applicants to complete a self-assessment and undergo a site audit. In return, Fleet Saver offers motor vehicle levy discounts of up to 40% per vehicle as incentives.
The programme has three status levels: bronze, silver and gold. Lift N Shift has achieved a gold status, so will be given a 40 per cent levy reduction.
ACC Relationship Manager, Rachael Fraine says, “we see a lot of companies apply for the assessment but we also see a lot of companies fail so it’s really cool to realise how far they’ve come.”
“I can’t tell you how proud I am of these boys. They are all brilliant drivers and hiab operators and very passionate about what they do – they really are trucks you want to be around,” says Rachel.
Both Waimea contract carriers and TIL Freight have also received gold accreditation through the programme.
